If you’re planning to automate a ball valve with an electric or pneumatic actuator, you’ll want to make sure your valve follows the ISO 5211 standard. This international specification defines the mounting flange interface between a valve and its actuator—ensuring compatibility, interchangeability, and easy retrofitting without the need for adapters or custom parts.
At Perfect Engineers, all our actuator-ready ball valves are ISO 5211 compliant, making them plug-and-play for pneumatic, electric, and electro-hydraulic actuation systems.
ISO 5211 is an international standard that specifies the interface dimensions and connection features between industrial valves and part-turn actuators (like those used on ball, butterfly, and plug valves).
It standardizes:
🔧 In simple terms: ISO 5211 makes sure your actuator and valve fit perfectly together, regardless of brand.
Valve Size (inches) | Typical ISO Mounting Pad |
---|---|
½” – 1” | F03, F05 |
1” – 2” | F05, F07 |
2” – 3” | F07, F10 |
4” – 6” | F10, F12 |
8” and above | F14, F16, F25 |

Actuator Type | Compatible With ISO 5211? | Notes |
---|---|---|
Pneumatic Actuators | ✅ Yes | Spring return / double acting |
Electric Actuators | ✅ Yes | On/off or modulating control |
Electro-Hydraulic | ✅ Yes | High-torque or outdoor duty |
Manual Gear Operators | ✅ Yes | For high-torque manual valves |
Yes—as long as the actuator also follows ISO 5211 dimensions and matches torque specs.
Mostly yes. But gear-operated valves also use ISO 5211 for ease of assembly and replacement.
Absolutely. Just remove the handle and install the actuator using the flange and stem interface.
You’ll need a mounting bracket or adapter kit—but we recommend matching them for direct fit.
