What is a Fire-Safe Ball Valve?

A Fire-Safe Ball Valve is a specially constructed valve designed to maintain pressure integrity and sealing during or after exposure to fire. While standard ball valves rely on PTFE or RPTFE seats, fire-safe valves have a secondary metal sealing mechanism that engages when soft seats burn out.

The purpose is to:

  • Prevent internal/external leakage
  • Contain toxic or flammable fluids
  • Ensure process integrity during emergencies
