What is a Threaded Ball Valve?

A Threaded Ball Valve (also called a screwed-end ball valve) is a quarter-turn shut-off valve with female or male threaded ends that connect directly to piping without welding or flanges. It is ideal for:

  • Compact installations
  • Temporary or portable setups
  • Small-diameter pipelines (up to 2” commonly)
  •  Water, oil, air, gas, and chemicals

Key Features of Our Threaded Ball Valves

  1. BSP / NPT threads in female x female, male x female, or male x male
  2. Available in SS304, SS316, Brass, Carbon Steel, and PVC
  3. Full bore or reduced bore options
  4. Lockable handles and blowout-proof stems
  5. Compact and lightweight construction
  6. Suitable for on/off or modulating flow control
  7. PTFE or RPTFE seats for leak-tight sealing

Type of Threaded Ball Valves

BSP (British Standard Pipe) Thread

BSP (British Standard Pipe) Thread

Whether you’re connecting pipes in industrial systems, HVAC lines, or sanitary installations, BSP threads ensure secure, leak-tight, and standard-compliant connections.

Metric Thread

Metric Thread

Metric Threads are the globally recognized thread standard for machined parts, hydraulic systems, fittings, and pressure connections, especially in European and Asian industries.

Common Applications of Threaded Ball Valves

  1. Water supply pipelines and domestic plumbing
  2. Compressed air and inert gas lines
  3. Fuel oil and diesel systems
  4. Chilled water and HVAC loops
  5. Skid-mounted equipment and test rigs
  6. Fire protection zone isolation
  7. Chemical dosing and transfer lines
  8. Cement, steel & material handling industries
  9. Temporary connections in portable systems

Types of Threaded Ball Valves We Offer

  • 2-Piece Threaded Ball Valve – Easy maintenance and replacement
  • 3-Piece Threaded Ball Valve – Ideal for cleaning and repair without removing from the line
  • Full Bore Threaded Ball Valve – No pressure drop, ideal for pump suction
  • Reduced Bore Threaded Ball Valve – Cost-effective option
  • Mini Ball Valves – Space-saving for tight installations
  • Union End Ball Valves – Easy removal from pipeline for servicing

Installation Tips

  • Always use thread sealant tape or liquid thread locker for leak-free connections
  • Avoid over-tightening; follow recommended torque specs
  • Use spanner-friendly flats to tighten without damaging the valve
  • For chemicals, verify seat and body compatibility
  • Use union-type valves where frequent removal is expected

FAQs

Up to PN63 (900 PSI) is feasible. For higher pressures, consider flanged or welded-end valves.

Yes—our 3-piece threaded ball valves can be fitted with ISO 5211 actuator mounting pads

Threaded valves are not ideal for underground permanent installations due to sealing and access limitations.

Not when installed correctly. Use PTFE tape or anaerobic thread sealants for long-term performance.
