3-Way Ball Valve (L-Port & T-Port) – Flow Diversion Made Easy

Looking to control, divert, or mix flow from one valve instead of installing multiple valves and fittings? The 3-Way Ball Valve is your smartest solution. At Perfect Engineers, we manufacture industrial-grade L-Port and T-Port 3-Way Ball Valves designed for applications that demand multi-directional flow, mixing, or distribution—with just a single actuator or handle.

These valves are extensively used in chemical processing, water treatment, paints, inks, pharma dosing systems, and other industries where compact, flexible piping layouts are needed.

What is a 3-Way Ball Valve?

A 3-Way Ball Valve has three ports (inlet/outlets) and a ball with a cut-out path to control how fluid flows between them. The internal ball design defines the valve’s operation, which comes in two main types:

  • L-Port: Diverts flow from one inlet to one of two outlets (or vice versa)
  • T-Port: Mixes or splits flow between all three ports in multiple configurations

Key Features of Our 3-Way Ball Valves

  1. Compact design with three ports in one valve
  2. Available in SS304, SS316, Brass, WCB, PVC
  3. Full bore or reduced bore options
  4. Threaded, flanged, clamp, or welded end connections
  5. Blowout-proof stem & anti-static device
  6. Suitable for manual, pneumatic, or electric operation
  7. Seat options: PTFE, RPTFE, Delrin, Graphite

Ideal Applications

  1. Tank outlet selection (L-Port)
  2. Mixing two fluids into one line (T-Port)
  3. Switching between supply or return loops
  4. Process utilities (oil, fuel, solvents)
  5. Paint / ink / pigment batching
  6. Chemical blending skids
  7. Clean-in-place (CIP) systems
  8. Drain / flush / bypass circuits
  9. Water treatment and filtration control

L-Port vs T-Port – Key Differences

Feature L-Port Valve T-Port Valve
Flow Direction One inlet → One of two outlets Mix/divert between any two/three ports
Use Case Tank selection, drain switching Mixing chemicals, batch transfer
Shut-off Configuration Partial (two positions) Can shut off or open all lines
Port Path 90° angle (“L” shape) 3-way path (“T” shape)
Operation Manual / Automated Manual / Automated

Automation Options

We supply 3-way ball valves with:

  • Pneumatic or electric actuators
  • Solenoid valves & positioners
  • Modulating 4–20mA controllers
  • Limit switches for signal feedback
  • Manual override handles for safety

Installation & Maintenance Tips

  • Confirm the required flow pattern (L or T) before purchase
  • Install with clear actuator access
  • Test handle/actuator positioning before operation
  • For paint/ink applications, clean after each cycle

FAQs

L-Port is ideal for selecting between tanks or sources.

Absolutely. All our models are ISO 5211 compatible.

Use SS316 or Hastelloy body, with RPTFE seats for corrosive media.

Ball valves offer better sealing, lower torque, and wider media compatibility
